This creamy spinach artichoke dip is simple, reliable, and perfect for gatherings, studio sessions, or a relaxed evening at home. It uses frozen spinach for convenience while delivering rich, balanced flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 (14 oz) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
- 1 cup frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
- 1 to 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 to 2 tablespoons milk (optional, for thinner consistency)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Thaw the spinach completely and squeeze out excess moisture using a clean towel or paper towels.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, mozzarella, parmesan, chopped artichokes, spinach, and garlic if using.
- Season lightly with salt and pepper. Add milk if a smoother consistency is desired.
- Spread mixture evenly into a small baking dish.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until hot, bubbly, and lightly golden on top.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Alternative – Quick Stovetop Method
- Thaw the frozen spinach completely and squeeze out excess moisture.
- In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, combine cream cheese, mozzarella, parmesan, chopped artichokes, and spinach.
- Stir continuously until the cheeses are fully melted and the mixture is smooth and heated through, about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Add a splash of milk if a thinner consistency is desired.
- Season lightly with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately.
This method produces a slightly softer texture than baking, but it delivers the same creamy flavor in less time.
Serving Suggestions
Serve warm with tortilla chips, sliced baguette, pita chips, or fresh vegetables. This dip also pairs well with grilled chicken or as a topping for baked potatoes.
Notes
- Be sure to remove as much moisture as possible from the spinach to prevent a watery dip.
- Monterey Jack can be substituted for mozzarella for a creamier texture.
- A pinch of red pepper flakes adds subtle heat.
